Report #004 | 03 may 2021

GENERAL UPDATE

No changes to the location of the vessel. The project remains in the same location and conditions are per previous reports.

We are approaching the final stages of the hot works onboard. The workforce has been busy on all fronts. Good progress has been made, although some minor delays are evident in some areas, the tanks inspections for example have been pushed back.  Some of the hull works are in slight delay, but nothing significant to cause any project knock-on-effects. The yard will recover the time.

EXTERIOR

  • Hull

There still remain some works to be done on the parts of the hull.

In the forward area, two additional sensor housings have now been installed. They are currently bare steel, but will be cleaned up, primed and painted as per the remaining outfitting standards already applied onboard.

There also remains some standing pipes to be cut and cleaned up. These are valving and various through hull fittings that can be seen protruding from the hull form.

The main sea chests are almost complete. The predisposition for cathelco anodes, sea water inlets and sacrificial zinc anodes can be seen internally.

The main mid-section area and stabiliser shell plating has been primed and painted black (antifouling paint). This is done on both sides of the vessel. These areas externally are completed.

The shafting alignment/arrangement is now completed, with the primary alignment completed. The picture shows the forward and intermediate bearing carriers awaiting their cutlass bearing inserts to be installed. This will happen only weeks prior to launching.

The rudder(s) alignment has commenced. Preliminary positioning is taking place currently on both units.

All of the underwater lights are now fully installed and welded in place. ABS certificates have been sighted. All that remains now is to clean up the welds and apply the paint system to the units and their surrounding areas.

  •  Superstructure:

A good deal of the superstructure and other deckhouse related components are well advanced in their fairing compound installation. This is so across all decks, but more evident on the sun deck and upper deck areas.

INTERIOR

  • Bridge Deck:

The electrical cable outfitting has advanced since the last report. Cable trays are installed and cable runs are starting to take form.

The sky lounge is also nearing the stage where the electrical cable install has commenced. The contractor is now making initial preparations for the first stages of interior outfitting.

  • Main Deck:

The below picture shows the engine room bulkhead, as seen from the guest accommodation looking aft. The area is mostly completed the structural fire protection material installed, in the picture, we can see the additional sound and vibration damping material installed.

The main saloon also advances with steady progress. Most of the insulation material is installed. Several areas will need to be re-applied and repairs carried out. The yard is informed of this and working progressively through the various areas.

  • Lower Deck:

There is little change visible in the crew areas. This is mainly because they were advanced in construction, and now the rest of the yacht needs to catchup to their level of completion. There remains some significant replacement of insulation material needed here; this is mainly due to the modification of the owners cabin starboard side shell opening. A lot of the already installed material needed to be destroyed to carry out this installation.

TECHNICAL AREAS

  • Engine Room:

Good progress in this area. Structural fire protection and also general insulation continues to be installed. Where the areas are considered completed, the work area has been covered by protective material in order to try and prevent any unnecessary damages due to the ongoing works.

The intension is to install the main power generators at the beginning of May. The support scaffolding has been built in the forward area of the engine room (port and starboard) to carry out the installation process.

The starboard side forward of the engine room, see the move towards completion of the air conditioning main chiller plant installation.  Seen in the below picture, the covered completed component parts of the main chiller.

Under the engine room deck plates, the continued construction of the various system pipework is being installed.

Pictured below, the various pipe lengths and connections are currently situated under the hull, awaiting installation.

The engine room ventilation main fire dampers are now installed. These are motorised units that close off the air supply and air extraction from the engine room.

  • Garage/Gym Area:

The aft section of the garage, the section needing modification to allow the garage door to operate properly is for the most part structural complete. The hot works are done and the area awaits it’s paint system application to commence.

Seen below is the internal view seen of the rudder alignment installation. The overhead block and tackle are shown to hoist the equipment and maintain its vertical position whilst the rudder stocks are installed and aligned.

Electrical cable installation has begun in the garage and forward transitions into the engine room compartment. The hanging coils of cable are located on the aft. Engine room bulkhead.
