Report #004 June 16th 2020
INTRODUCTION
Construction continues ahead at a good pace and as expected in the final stages of the build. Owing to the rejection of the painting, we’ve managed to gain some valuable time, or more importantly, the yard has managed to breath and slow down the internal outfitting stages. The extra time, to allow a better level of finishing with the time complication of making the launch has been beneficial for the Yacht’s quality of construction.
Once we have reviewed/accepted or rejected the paint and subsequently witnessed the launch together with the inclination tests, the builder will be in a better position to anticipate a more accurate suggested delivery date.
Internal paint inspections are scheduled this coming Thursday 18th June 2020, external inspections anticipated on Friday 19th June 2020. Assuming all is well and as discussed with the shipyard, the intention is to have the launch on Saturday 20th June 2020.
You will note from the critical items list, the new information based around launch and anticipated delivery date as scheduled by the builder. We are maintaining pressure on the builder to ensure they understand early delivery is not priority, but quality, along with minimum warranty is the goal.
In general terms there is nothing of major concern to note that has not already been discussed.
GENERAL UPDATE
PAINT
Defect rectification continues in all affected areas.
The demarcation lines have been seen on port and starboard sides.
The majority of the work extends from the aft sections of the vessel forward, to around the mid-ship areas.
The shipyard is currently painting the entire rear end of the vessel from approximately mid-ship to mid-ship. The fairing works have been completed and the painting process has now begun - almost finished.
We will move to inspect the Yacht prior to its removal from the shed, and again once outside in order to meet the acceptance criteria.
EXTERIOR
Mast
The mast has been located onboard.
The unit has already been painted and finished prior to embarkation.
Some fittings remain to be located, something that will happen once the principal navigation and communications equipment has been installed onboard.
Main Deck Balustrades
Both port and starboard sides have been installed, the surfaces repaired, primed and painted.
The lower glass sections are also installed, with the only remaining part of the system install being the embarkation bulwark doors and stainless-steel fittings. These are anticipated to be installed prior to the launching.
Beach Club Area
Hydraulics installation remains in progress.
The interior sections are starting to come together. Due to the painting process, this has become the primary entry point and work flow passage to the vessel, so progress in this area has become somewhat restricted. We anticipate accelerated progress here in the coming weeks.
Panto-graphic Doors Installation
Exterior doors on the upper and main decks have been installed. These will be water tested prior to the launch and as part of the acceptance testing protocols.
Pool Area
The area is almost finished in terms of tiling.
The glass aft section is at the yard and awaits final fitting.
As of yet, none of the pumping, heading and jets arrangement has been installed.
Primary Installation of the aft gangway/passerelle
This has had its first fitting.
The units installation remains in progress.
INTERIOR
Crew Area
These areas are also nearing the final stages.
The crew mess is almost complete with only the main table and other accessories remaining to be installed.
Some of the shower and bathrooms are awaiting their fittings, tap and such. For the most part, they are almost complete.
Guest Shared Spaces
Main saloon, guest corridor, pantries, etc. are moving ahead at pace.
The areas are being sealed up and have protective outer covers fitted to prevent accidental scratching due to the continued construction process.
Guest Accommodation
Steady progress with the Owner’s areas, both upper and main decks.
The rest of the lower guest cabins are coming along well.
Air Conditioning & UTA’s
Most of the fan coil units have been installed.
The ducts and other piping connections remain to be completed, but this is mainly due to the ongoing cabinetry works.
Wheelhouse
Gyro Compass and a lot of principal equipment has had its first fit, with many components being installed in the lower technical areas.
The locations of the wheelhouse seating have been confirmed.
The final interior outfitting has commenced in a lot of areas, with the main console nearing completion.
ENGINEERING
Generator exhaust reduction system has been installed. Currently there are several minor sections to complete as well as the fitted insulation jackets.
Shore Power Transformer has been located onboard, inside the engine room. Some of the connecting cables are waiting connection, but the unit is in its intended final location. Minor parts remain to be connected before it can become operational.
The engine room soft patch has been installed and suitably insulated and finished. This now closes the engine room and indicates the level of completion where no more major equipment remains to be installed.
Remaining Piping Systems: Work continues. This is something that remains so until the completion of the vessels systems.
We are awaiting many areas to be re-worked and modified as per our construction log and previous report correspondence.
