Progress Report OCTOBER 01 2020
Swimming Pool installation:
The pool was intended for installation but, due to adverse weather conditions, the yard have decided to rely the final fitting and installation until the second week of October. The pool is inside the yard and awaiting installation. The mounting system has been installed, in preparation for installation.
Tender Garage:
Work in the tender garage has been progressive. The watertight doors are both installed, with a few minor finishing touches required. The internal sides have been faired with the blue/green build up that can be seen on the vertical bulkheads. The stainless steel tender launching and recovery trolley has been installed and protected with wrapping. For the most part, the hydraulics installation has been 90% completed, although the yard have been asked to rectify some points connected to the installation of the hydraulic hoses and piping supports. The recovery winch is fully installed.
The viewing window has also been faired and awaits the toughened partition, this is not expected until the final fitting stages of the beach club area move towards a more completed state.
The Williams jet tender has not arrived at the yard yet, but is expected to be on-site soon. The yard will inform once it has arrived so we can conduct an assessment before installation.
Doors and Hatches:
The main deck doors are all installed. The system commissioning of them has been undertaken by the manufacturer - We are awaiting the reports to be sent through, but operations have been witnessed, as have the Owner’s cabin opening windows. Remaining works are limited to minor adjustments to the interior outfitting, and addition of sill’s and boarders to close the windows and doors.
The sun deck pantographic doors have been removed and are currently undergoing painting and finishing. These are expected to be reinstalled in the next weeks.
The various skylights are all installed and have been water tested by class. That is the forward sections into the owners areas and wheelhouse and also the roll bar.
Interior:
The interior remains working progress, but we are moving into the final stages of the installation. The largest unfinished areas are related to the flooring.
The final stage will be the installation of the leather sections but, for now, the wooden sections are being installed and protected with the remain areas already templated.
For the most part, the lower guest cabins are all but complete, the crew area is undergoing minor finishing works. The watertight door between the crew mess and the lower get cabins in installed. The crew mess is also finished.
The Owners cabin and adjoining main deck cabin are having minor touches finalised. The electronic system installation is almost finished with speakers, AV racks and televisions all installed and operational.
More skilled interior installations are taking place, leather work, marble etc. The bathrooms are almost finished, with toilets and mirrors, sinks and showers completed, save minor touchups that will be carried out at the very end of the production phase.
Bridge:
This area has seen significant progress.
There remains some way to go, but essentially all the systems have been verified and had their provisional installation. What remains now is to organise and collectively run and secure the multitude of cabling and their passage routing to the various end users, screens, navigation equipment etc.
The facias and major tempting is in place, with a small amount of component parts fitted, lots will happen in a very short period of time once the fan coil units and ducting/drainage is installed and the cables routed. The principal screens and visual displays are installed, with minor alterations and adjustments to be made toward the end.
The helm station controls are installed, with the Rolls Royce main engine directional pod controls fitted, main engine command and control components installed and the wing stations installed. There remains some exterior works on the wing stations, but all functional controls are connected and tested. MTU and Kamewa have confirm and commissioned and verified all equipment.
Exterior:
Various paint works are ongoing. We are now down to the more minor remarks and finishing stages.
We anticipate we will begin a position to make preliminary inspections towards the end of the month, possibly sooner depending on the prevailing weather conditions.
The teak decking is installed, with caulking and seem work done.
The deck will require the finishing works once all the other deck related works are completed. Until then, the raised caulking and sanding will not be done. This is something at the end of the works to be carried out.
Some more areas, such as the aft main deck area still have some important works to be finished. The port side aft pantograph doors (as the wing station doors) are awaiting final finishing. Some raw holes and patches need to be finished, with electrical control panels awaiting their installations.
These will all need to be weather proof-tested water ingression etc.
As mentioned previously, the pool awaits its installation, but the fixed hatches and other seating/furniture is being installed currently, it may be in place for your upcoming visit. This will largely depend on the weather situation in the last days. We have discussed the alterations of some of the deck and locker drainage with the yard. We will revisit the subject after your visit and once we have a better picture of yard timings.
Engine Room:
Aside from some deck plate anodising, piping adjustment sea alterations, plus some rectification works from our side, the engine room mechanical installation is almost completed.
The electrical installation is being also followed closely by the classification society and is progressing well. The various alarm and control panels are well installed and can also been seen in the crew mess and wheelhouse/bridge.
These electrical systems will take some work to fully test towards the end stages of the production just due to their extensive domestic and domotic systems. The installation is generally well executed and we do not foresee any major issues. Various systems such as air conditioning, fuel transfer and filling, ventilation, black and grey water systems have all been tested and commissioned. The yard is sharing with us the various component systems reports, all of which, save minor rectification works are well installed.
Exhaust installation and thermal protective coverings is almost finished. Some polished stainless steel works remain. You may note that some systems, mainly located in high foot-traffic areas such as the main entrance port side, have cosmetic damage. This is mainly just paint defects and scratches. All of these will be brought back to first-class finishing once the engine room (and other technical areas) moves towards the final finishing phase.
