Progress Report - 02 Feb. 2021
GENERAL SITUATION
Currently the Yacht is situated on the hard standing, supported by temporary keel blocks and side supports. She has been kept inside the main shed at the Builders facility as per the last update.
Work has been ongoing with various painting works and defect rectifications. These works have been concurrently running alongside the normal construction process. Undoubtably this extended process will eventually result in a much higher quality of finishing to the Yacht and it's systems in general terms.
The main accomplishment of these works inside the shed, has been the addition of the swimming pool on the upper deck aft. and various ongoing paint works.
A few days prior to this report, a series of paint inspections were undertaken, as a direct result of those inspection carried out by the undersigned, the Yacht has been delayed in its launching. The principal reason being so that the yard’s paint contractor can undertake rectifying actions. More details described below. As of now, the timeframe involved in those works is as yet undefined. The aft. section of the Yacht has not been able to be inspected yet, as works remained in progress, so those areas, aft of the main engine above water cowlings, through the aft section and transom, to the same point on the other side of the vessel as yet remain un-inspected.
We should anticipate further time in lieu of these inspections as well, basically, more delays until the launching of the vessel.
EXTERIOR
At the time of the last inspections outside the shed, works were still ongoing on the starboard side garage door and its surrounding areas. The transom door has been deployed for finishing works, polishing and such. The port side of the vessel has a scaffolding section for general access. The port side aft bulwark mounted access door has undergone it’s second stage fitting. Adjustments are ongoing but the unit is for all purposes installed.
External lighting and recessed deck heads are mounted and look great. The shaped and moulded lights along the side deck and main deck aft are well executed and provide a good light spectrum.
The superstructure has not, and is not ready for the final paint inspections, this is likely to happen at the next available weather window and will be carried out with the yards external paint inspectors. Many areas have been re-painted, including large areas such as the forward wheelhouse areas and side decks and some mast areas.
Fender hangers have been installed on the carbon fibre side stanchions; these have been made in stainless steel. We can probably anticipate some alterations to these as they seem a little high and should probably be moved to the lower portion of the base to provide them with a lesser force moment when in use. Inspecting the painted areas under these various stanchions, mainly at the forward end of the vessel, it’s recommended that great care and attention is paid to providing as much protection for the fenders when deployed. They are likely to cause quite high abrasive forces on the painted surface. Fender covers and even a form of lubricant is advised, care to be taken as to not cause and paint reactions if any liquid barrier is used. Consultation is advised with the paint manufacturer to ensure best results.
Please see below paint inspection report.
INTERIOR
Finishing works for almost all areas is being undertaken. Flooring is almost completed in all areas, final stages of carpentry work, minor defect rectification and minor re-working is ongoing. The main series of works not yet in their final stages is that ion the beach club area and the wheelhouse.
Many of the modifications that have been agreed between yourself and the yard are working progress. In some instances, quite a lot of removal and re-working is needed, for example to make space for the fridge space. Counter tops and main cabinetry are under working progress.
ENGINEERING
As agreed with the yard, we are about to engage in the process of testing and commissioning 53-line items and systems.
Many of these have already been witnessed by the Lloyd’s classification society. In agreement with the yard, the general intension is to undertake these with Arrow Services Monaco presence and crew participation, so the operators can learn the vessel at the same time.
This, in our opinion will provide the greatest level of in-depth understanding and engagement between the builders, their sub-contractors and ourselves making sure that the systems are fully functional and working as outlined the technical specification.
At the same time, the systems operational parameters are being tested, any remarks with further installation questions will be raised with the yard.
For your general information, here is a list of tests and drawings, system that we will be reviewing during these tests:
