Phase 1. pre-contract - specification and contract review
Prior to the owner signing any agreements, Arrow’s in-house technical experts will work closely with the captain and chief engineer to either produce or review a detailed project specification along with the associated technical drawings and plans. This review is crucial for your protection as it will ensure that all refit works have been properly defined and specified. In addition it will highlight exclusions and omissions from the scope of work that could significantly increase the budget if not identified at this early stage.
Arrow will also work with the client’s legal team to review the terms of the shipyard’s refit contract as well as any subcontractor contracts. In conjunction with this the overall refit schedule will be reviewed together with contractual milestone payments.
In short, engaging Arrow at this stage in the process will give you peace of mind as our expertise will bring you a detailed refit specification, ensuring you avoid hidden costs, maximize your negotiating leverage at the pre-contract stage and significantly reduce your risks post signature.
