Progress Report #02 | July 2022

Progress report on metal works on San Lorenzo 44m, project 157.

Location: Massa, Italy

Report was written by Matthew Wood, technical manager at Arrow Monaco on the 18th July 2022.

  • Hull works

All sections of the hull have now been aligned and welded from bow to stern up to the main deck level.

The hull will now stay in this shed until it is transported to La Spezia for paint works and to begin the fit-out stages in December.

  • Bow section

The bow section is now welded to the hull. In the image, you can see the stairs down to the crew areas on the lower deck.

Forward of the crew stairs sits the master stateroom.

The opening forward is to the mooring area that sits in front of the forward tender garage.

  • Hull and tanks

The structural tanks that are fabricated into the hull are currently being pressure tested with the attendance of ABS classification society.

  • Beach club and hull openings

The hull opening doors are being fabricated off-site by a specialist.

All preparations are being made on the hull openings to have the doors installed in place before the yacht is transported to La Spezia.

  • Lower deck interior areas

  • Machinery spaces

Engine room pre-outfitting items are being prepared, such as machinery and auxiliary equipment foundations and floor structures

Under lower deck tunnel, pre-outfitting items are being prepared, such as pump and stabilizer foundations.

  • Bridge and Sun decks

The bridge deck construction has begun in the same shed as the hull. The bridge deck is scheduled to be lifted onto the main deck mid-August.

The sun deck is currently being constructed off-site, it will be lifted into place in mid-September.

The only structure that will be connected in La Spezia is the mast for ease of transport.
