4. SAFETY & SECURITY

4.1 Compliance

Sarafsa is currently registered with the Cayman Island Shipping Registry as a Pleasure Yacht. Below is an overview of the current certification onboard. At time of writing all certification was found to be valid and in date.

4.2 Safety/Security Management Systems

ISM and ISPS management systems are currently implemented onboard. The management systems are administered by MTSI. Crew reporting appears to be up to date with the requirements of the system and the crew report that they receive feedback and response from MTSI when needed. As Sarafsa is a privately registered yacht the ISM and ISPS systems are being run on a voluntary basis and they have not been certified by Cayman Islands. It is highly recommended that these systems be maintained onboard as best practice however it would make sense to change the system to that of the  management company once appointed in order to keep all services under one roof.

4.3 Status of Life Saving Appliances / Fire fighting appliences

Below is an overview of all Life saving appliances and Fire fighting equipment onboard. All annual servicing is now overdue as a result of unavailability of a certified service centre in Sardinia. Cayman Islands has issued a dispensation for the equipment servicing, therefore there is no issue with compliance however it is recommended that all LSA and FFE is serviced at the earliest opportunity. The crew continue to inspect and maintain this equipment on a monthly basis
