PAINT WORKS
Following a paint rejection during the previous month, the port and starboard hull above the rubbing strake aft along with the transom was re sanded and painted in topcoat. Additional care was taken to reduce dust levels and vibrations on the hull during the paint process.
With the above paint shoot being a success, the paint shoots are now complete. Scaffolding was removed and Arionas was moved out of the shed. She now sits on the hardstanding where refitting works will continue in preparation for the next stage of launching.
PAINT WORKS CONTINUED
Arrow Monaco’s appointed paint surveyor has visited Arionas and has completed an in-depth inspection of all exterior paint works. A snag list of minor imperfections has been submitted to Amico. Amico have since begun resolving the defects.
Underwater antifoul paint work is continuing.
A more durable technical paint is being applied to port hole sealing edges, inside of exhausts, hull inlets and outlets.
The boot line was painted in Stark white to match the superstructure.
ENGINEERING
Engineering systems are being installed, starting top left and working clockwise.
The anchor windlass that has undertaken a complete service and re paint is installed back onboard. The anchors and chains will be lifted back onboard prior to the launch.
The steering pumps are back in place. The new steering rams have been tested as per classification requirements and will be installed during February.
Engine room aft floor frames have been fabricated and welded in place, the wooden templates will be used to cut the aluminium checker plates. The aluminium plates will not be installed until a later stage to remove the risk of any damages.
The fuel system main components have been installed on their new basements. Fuel pipework fabrication will continue during the month of February.
ENGINEERING CONTINUED
Engineering continued, starting top left and working clockwise.
Stabiliser fins port and starboard have been installed by the manufacturer.
The fire main pipework repairs and hydrant valve services have now been completed. Many pressure tests were undertaken with compressed air to find the multitude of small leaks around the yacht that are now resolved. The system has now been flushed and pressure tested with fresh water and retains pressure. A final test will be completed in the water with the classification societies.
Accommodation air conditioning ducting has been professionally cleaned, air quality tests will be completed once power is back to the yacht and commissioning begins.
The main air conditioning plant has been re installed and new local pipework is in place to connect the plant to the yachts system.
CREW WORKS
The swim platform wooden grating has been re installed, the swim ladder handrail installation has begun.
Crew heads works are underway in preparation for the crew moving back onboard once Arionas is back in the water.
Newly polished port holes have been re installed.
Interior protection has started to be removed and the 1st stage cleaning process has begun.
Deck fittings installation and varnishing works continue.
